Bigarreau Group: Under this group, cherries are round in shape and generally the fruit colour varies from dark to light red. Heart Group: Under this group, cherry fruits are in heart shape with tender flesh. Fruit colour varied from darkish red to light coloured reddish.

Carnation cultivars are mainly divided into 3 categories/groups depending upon flower size and their use. They are Standard carnation, Spray carnation and Micro carnation. Standard carnations have a single large flower on an individual stem of the plant and mostly used as cut flowers. Spray carnation are small and compact and generally a bunch of flowers on short branches of a single stalk. Micro carnations have shorter stems and higher production than spray cultivars. These carnations are mostly used as ornamental pot plants other than using in flower decorations.

There are two species of marigold. They are Tagetes erecta (African marigold) and Tagetes patula (French marigold). The African marigold plant is hardy, annual and grows 90 cm tall, erect and branched. Plant leaves are pinnately divided and leaflets are lanceolate and serrated. Flowers are single to fully double with large globular heads and the florets are either 2-lipped or quilled. Flower color changes from lemon yellow to yellow, golden yellow or orange.

The French marigold plant is a hardy annual grows to about 30 cm tall, forming a bushy plant. Foliage is the dark green color with the reddish stem. Plant leaves are pinnately divided and leaflets are linear, lanceolate and serrated. These flowers are small, either single or double borne on proportionately long peduncles. The flower color changes from yellow to mahogany red.
